What is PKD?
So who are we?
The PKD of RI was founded in honor of Andrew Doughty and the 2000 Rhode Islanders affected by PKD. Andrew was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease when he was 2 months old. He currently has multiple cysts covering both kidneys. In light of PKD Andrew is a very active 6 year old who loves to explore the world around him. He loves to visit the fire station and check out the fire trucks.
Andrew has participated in the Rhode Island walk for PKD for 3 years, in September he will be doing his 4th walk. For the past 2 years Andrew has reached Visionary status for raising over $6,000 for research. It is our hope that with proper funding and public awareness a cure can be found for PKD. It is our goal to raise awareness and funds through this website and to promote upcoming Rhode Island events!!!
